봄시즌 첫 전시로 이상선, 이인성, 윤소연 3인전 《응시, 각자의 빛을 향하여》를 개최합니다.
세 작가는 친숙한 일상에서 문득 다가온 특별한 인상의 순간을 기록하는 공통점이 있습니다. 본 전시에서 자연과 일상풍경이라는 공통 기반 위에 작가 개인의 차별화된 소재선택과 주제의식을 동시에 감상할 수 있다는 점이 흥미롭습니다.
이상선 작가는 톡톡 튀는 색과 구도로 문득 낯설어진 익숙한 풍경을 재구성합니다. 먼저 노랑, 빨강과 흰색으로 풍경들을 표현하면 화면 위 색들이 제각각 튀는 개성을 발휘하고 그 위에 파랑, 녹색과 검정을 더하면 서로 견제하고 어울려 더욱 조화로움을 발산합니다. 직선을 추구하지만 어느새 선은 이리저리 자유롭게 구부러지고 꺾여있습니다.
이인성 작가는 주황색 볼을 통해 인상적 순간의 내면을 상징적으로 표현합니다. 그가 그리는 풍경의 배경은 흔히 무채색이나 부분적으로 일그러진 형태입니다. 하지만 때로는 화폭 전면에, 때로는 보물처럼 점점이 흩어진 ‘주황색 볼’은 손에 든 횃불처럼 웅장하고 따뜻한 감동으로 마치 따라오라 말하는 듯합니다. 명백한 모험으로의 초대에 시선은 집중되고 즐거운 상상은 우리를 모험가로 만듭니다.
종이가방과 상자에 바다와 하늘을 담는 윤소연 작가는 멈춘 듯 보이지만 끊임없이 움직이는 물과 하늘을 종이에 가득 길어 담아 선물합니다. 동심을 담은 종이비행기와 종이배는 더 넓은 곳으로 항해하고 싶다는 욕구를 불러일으키지요. 윤소연 작가의 바다와 하늘과 숲을 응시하며 평온하고 고요한 나만의 요새를 구축해 보는 것은 어떨까요?

We are pleased to open the spring season with Gaze, Toward Each One’s Light, a three-person exhibition featuring artists Lee Sangsun, Lee Inseong, and Yoon Soyun.
All three artists share a sensitivity to fleeting yet extraordinary moments drawn from everyday life. What makes this exhibition compelling is how, within the shared foundation of nature and daily scenery, each artist presents a unique visual language and thematic focus.
Lee Sangsun reconstructs familiar landscapes that suddenly feel unfamiliar, using vivid colors and dynamic compositions. Beginning with yellow, red, and white, each hue asserts its presence, sparkling with individuality. When layered with blue, green, and black, they temper and balance each other, creating heightened harmony. Though she begins with straight lines, the marks soon bend, twist, and wander freely across the canvas.
Lee Inseong symbolically conveys interior moments of impression through his signature orange spheres. His backgrounds tend to be muted or subtly distorted. Yet the orange forms, sometimes dominating the canvas and sometimes scattered like hidden treasure, glow like torches in hand, radiating warmth and grandeur. They seem to call out, “Follow me,” inviting us toward an unmistakable adventure. Our gaze gathers around them, and imagination turns us into wanderers and explorers.
Yoon Soyun captures the sea and sky on paper bags and boxes, offering scenes that appear still yet never cease to move. She fills these humble surfaces with shifting waters and vast skies, as if pouring them generously into each work. Paper boats and airplanes evoke childhood wonder, stirring a longing to drift toward wider horizons. While gazing at her seas, skies, and forests, perhaps you, too, may build a quiet, peaceful sanctuary of your own.
